Survivors of torture are facing homelessness and destitution. Will you support them?

Receiving refugee status should be a time of relief. But, every week, hundreds of torture survivors face homelessness and lose their cash allowance within days of being given their refugee status.

More survivors need our support – survivors like Elijah who had to navigate the housing system alone, unaware of his rights or where to turn for legal support.

Since last July, the number of asylum seekers who have been granted leave to stay in the UK and then ended up on the streets has increased by nearly 1000%. Without your urgent support, many more survivors could end up homeless.

Asylum should mean asylum – protection, support, and help for people rebuilding their lives after torture. Your gift can help right these wrongs today.

WILL YOU HELP SURVIVORS OF TORTURE FACING HOMELESSNESS AND DESTITUTION?

In their attempt to save money and clear the asylum backlog, this government has abandoned the most vulnerable. As a result, our Welfare Advisors have seen an increase in the number of refugees facing homelessness.

Our dedicated Legal and Welfare team help survivors navigate the complex housing system and help survivors like Elijah feel safe and rebuild their lives.

“When I came to Freedom from Torture I felt like I was appreciated... for the first time I felt like I was talking to a caring person who wanted to help me.” - Elijah

Will you support a survivor of torture today? Just £40 could help pay for food and essentials after they are suddenly cut off from asylum support.
